Rubicon’s Services

Rubicon provides a number of different types of services (aka: programs) in partnership with local government and other service providers at sites throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Although the services provided may differ at each location, Rubicon’s dedication to helping people reach their goals is the same.

Assets

Rubicon’s financial service programs help participants build the assets they need to achieve economic mobility. In addition to workshops to help participants gain a solid understanding of the issues that impact their financial health, a Financial Coach provides a customized set of services that helps participants accomplish their individual financial goals, partners with them to explore financial products, and connects them to other services that promote prosperity.

Wellness

Emotional and physical wellness is a key factor in securing and retaining employment. Rubicon’s Wellness services help participants manage everyday stress and chronic health conditions, mild to moderate mental illness, and substance addiction. We provide on-site wellness education workshops, help participants access primary health care, and learn to advocate for their needs. Wellness Clinicians also offer short-term individual therapy sessions and support a warm hand-off to partner treatment providers for longer-term or more intensive therapies.

Connections

Fighting poverty is not an individual effort. People depend on social connections not only to secure employment, but to help buffer a set-back should an unexpected life event occur, like a lost job or a health issue. Connections is designed to build participants’ self-efficacy, strengthen their personal networks, and equip them to participate in meaningful ways in civic activities that impact their communities. By strengthening their own financial, social and health situation, participants emerge ready to act as leaders in community and civic life. Their personal successes have a ripple effect, benefiting their family and broader community.
