- Rubicon is pleased to have Bank of the West as our community partner and for their generous sponsorship of Rubicon's Holiday Giving Campaign. This partnership with Bank of the West will allow Rubicon to support a holiday grocery drive for 38 formerly homeless families, providing each with groceries and gift cards for a family of four to enjoy a holiday meal. Additionally, Bank of the West's support will fund a gift and toy drive for Rubicon consumers as well as holiday events for our Richmond Career Center, Hawkins Center, and also one of our housing sites with families who receive supportive services. We are very thankful for the community support from Bank of the West and their employees to help make the holidays special for individuals and families in need.
- On December 3, 2008, Rubicon was honored at the 2nd Annual Tipping Point Awards. Rubicon was honored for achievements and Greg Bell, a former client, was invited to speak and accept an award that included a $50,000 grant. Daniel Lurie, President and Founder of Tipping Point shared, "When we were going through the selection process for the 2008 Tipping Point Awards, nearly every client we spoke to referred to Rubicon and their staff as miracle workers. Armed with the help and the hope that Rubicon provides, clients take the steps necessary to get and keep jobs -- and that fights poverty. Greg Bell started his life over again at 50 years old. He had few marketable skills and 30 years of substance abuse under his belt. Now he's sober, self-sufficient, and working at a job he loves with full-benefits. Rubicon made that possible."
