Housing and Case Management
The goal of Rubicon housing programs is to promote independence and self-sufficiency for homeless and disabled participants by reducing barriers to obtaining and maintaining housing. We work with participants to assess strengths and barriers; to assist with development of a self-sufficiency plan; and to assist with applying for housing. We provide information regarding housing resources in West Contra Costa County; information regarding individual credit repair; advocacy with landlords and provider agencies; referrals for all support services as indicated by the self-sufficiency plan.
Services include:
- Case Management Services: assist homeless and disabled persons in assessing their barriers, developing a self-sufficiency plan and finding and maintaining stable housing. Programs include Project Independence (PI), PI Transitional Housing (PITH), Mental Health Case Management (MHCM), and Health, Housing and Integrated Services Network (HHISN).
- Resource Services (formerly called Money Management Program): Resource Services (RS) provide representative payee services including housing support, budgeting, rent/bill payment and life skills counseling. RS assists homeless persons and those suffering from psychiatric disabilities to manage their benefit income, obtain and maintain stable housing, and effectively budget for personal needs and daily living expenses.
- Permanent Supportive Housing: subsidized housing with on-site supportive services for individuals with a mental health disability and/or HIV/AIDS are provided at three sites (West Richmond Apartments, Virginia Street Apartments, Idaho Apartments).
For more information about these services, contact Hallie Friedman at 510 231 3918.
